“Too much sun may be hard on your skin, but sunscreens are a case of “the cure may be worse than the disease.” I will do my best to see if I can find some natural sunscreens. This is information that I received from Dr. Sears. He has created one using natural zinc. Just remember, “Sunscreens Block the Good Stuff, Too” – Vitamin D. Read on….

What is in your sunscreen?

If you use a sunscreen, you could be doing something worse than throwing your money away. You could be risking your health.
Because most sunblock products contain ingredients that can increase the damaging effects of the sun’s rays!

University of California researchers discovered that oxybenzone – a common sunscreen ingredient – boosts the production of dangerous free radicals in your skin after just 20 minutes of exposure to the sun!

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says you should avoid using BHA – another common sunscreen ingredient – if you’re going out in the sun. And they say you shouldn’t use it at all on young children!

The truth is, commercial sunscreen products can do more harm than good. They’re loaded with chemicals that could…
* Disarm your body’s natural defenses against sun damage… multiplying the harmful effects of the sun’s rays;

* Damage your DNA… increasing your chances of serious health problems;

* Affect your hormone balance and contribute to early puberty in children

Is Your Sunscreen Stealing Your Health?
Did you know there are chemicals used in sunscreens that absorb easily through your skin and…
* Act like the female hormone estrogen, disrupting your body’s hormone balance;
* Are linked to breast and skin cancers;
* Injure your DNA;
* Interfere with the production of thyroid hormones;
* May contribute to male infertility

You wouldn’t think chemicals like that would be allowed in skin care products. But they are. They’re called parabens, and you’ll find one or more of them in almost every sunscreen on the market. And for years you’ve been told to spread them all over your body… Too much sun may be hard on your skin, but sunscreens are a case of “the cure may be worse than the disease.”

Sunscreens Block the Good Stuff, Too
The sun is your friend. It provides many health benefits – because it’s your main source of vitamin D. Vitamin D promotes bone strength by improving calcium absorption. You need it for a healthy immune system. It helps you control blood pressure. In fact, it has dozens of healthy benefits. Your body makes vitamin D when you expose your skin to the sun. Just 15 – 20 minutes of sun each day is enough for most people to make all the vitamin D they need. Sunscreens don’t do much very well… but they effectively block vitamin D production.

Studies show that about one-third of all Americans already don’t get enough vitamin D. And large number of children are beginning to experience bone development problems – which are being linked to the chemicals in most the chemicals in most sunscreens.

If you use these kinds of these kinds of sunscreens as directed, you never get enough sun to make the vitamin D you need. You see, you have to plan ahead with ordinary sunblock products. To get any benefit, you have to apply them a half hour – or more – before sun exposure.
